International airport «Aulie-Ata» to open in 3rd quarter of 2015 in Taraz

TARAZ. KAZINFORM - The reconstruction of the passenger terminal in Taraz is coming to an end. After completion, international passenger airport "Aulie-Ata" will have all the features and characteristics of the modern airport with a high level of service and technical support.

As the press service of the governor of Zhambyl region informs, the air-terminal complex, the construction of which began in 2012, is expected to be commissioned in the third quarter of the current year. The total cost of the project is about 1.3 bln tenge. As earlier reported, previously the completion of the project was scheduled for May 2014, but it was postponed due to lack of finances. Early in 2015 it was decided at the session of the regional maslikhat to increase the capital stock of "Taraz" Social-Entrepreneurship Corporation by 300 mln tenge in order to extend this amount of money to "Aulie-Ata" airport as a short-term loan for completion of construction. The building of the airport and the apron will meet all the international standards after the reconstruction. The new passenger terminal with the floor area of 5.5 thousand sq meters will have the capacity of 200 passengers an hour ensuring the growth the passenger traffic and a high level of service. In 2013, the take-off runway was built at the airport. It allowed the airport to render services to all types of modern airplanes including Boeing and Airbus. The press service of the governor of the region informed that all the work held in the airport was financed from the national budget in the amount of 4.7 bln tenge.
