Faced with a complicated world security situation, the meeting would mainly focus on security within the Commonwealth of Independent States(CIS), Kyrgyz State Minister of Foreign Affairs Kadyrbek Sarbaevat said at the opening ceremony.

As terrorism and extremism could threaten economic development across the region, international and regional groups, such as CIS, Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and CIS Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), should play a key role in fighting such forces, said Sarbaevat.

The conference, sponsored by Kyrgyzstan State Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the security affairs bureau of Kyrgyzstan and the anti-terrorism coalition of CSTO, will last for two days; Kazinform cites Xinhua. See www.news.xinhuanet.com for full version.
