International Contact Group on Afghanistan held meeting of unprecedented level - Kazakh FM
TANA. November 15. KAZINFORM /Askar Bimendin/ Today the XII session of the International Contact Group on Afghanistan reached important agreements that will form the basis for the forthcoming Bonn Conference, Kazakh Foreign Minister Yerzhan Kazykhanov told a briefing at the Rixos Hotel, Astana.
"The meeting was held in a friendly and open atmosphere, a wide range of issues concerning the situation in Afghanistan was discussed," he said. The Minister said the meeting was of unprecedented level, "since the situation in Afghanistan attracts more and more attention of the international community."
"Kazakhstan as the Central Asian country located in the vicinity of Afghanistan pays great attention to solving the Afghan problem, reconstruction and rehabilitation of this country. Today's important agreements will form the basis for the forthcoming Bonn meeting, which will be held December 5 this year in Germany," Kazykhanov noted.
