International Day of Nauryz celebrated in Berlin

ASTANA. March 28. KAZINFORM The international holiday Nauryz has been celebrated in Berlin on March 24; Kazinform refers to the press service of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry. The event was organized by the Kazakh Embassy with support of the embassies Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Turkey.

More than 1,000 guests including heads of eight diplomatic missions as well as German politicians, deputies, businessmen, workers of culture and science gathered to mark the holiday.

The program of the concert consisted of the performances of 'Turan' folk ensemble and the Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory. The celebration was finished with the presentation of national cuisine and handiwork.

The event was held within the framework of the UN General Assembly's 2010 resolution on declaring 21 March of each year as International Day of Nauryz. As is known, the resolution welcomes the efforts of the member states where Nauryz is celebrated to preserve and develop the culture and traditions related to Nauryz, and encourages to make efforts to raise awareness about Nauryz and to organize annual events in commemoration of this festivity.
