International Meeting on Syria returns to Astana – New episode of New Time TV Show available now

Another edition of the International Meeting on Syria took place in Astana. Spanning 12 years since 2011, the ongoing civil war in Syria has prompted discussions on peace resolution within the so-called Astana format. This meeting was the twenty-first consecutive gathering focusing on the Syrian crisis. Delegations from Iran, Russia, Türkiye, the Syrian government and the opposition along with observers from Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, and the UN participated in the negotiations. The parties issued a joint statement, comprising 20 resolutions, announced by Kazakhstan's Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Alibek Bakayev. 

The document calls for continued, concerted efforts towards a peaceful resolution of the Syrian crisis, as well as increasing humanitarian aid and support to the Syrian refugees. You can find more details about the Astana talks on Syria in the latest episode of “New Time” TV Show.

Almost 2,000 young athletes from 70 countries gathered in Gangwon province for the Winter Youth Olympics. Our athletes claimed gold in ski jumping and bronze in short track speed skating and hockey.
