Investment Headquarters reviews 90 projects worth $45bln – PM Bektenov

At the President’s instruction, the Investment Headquarters of Kazakhstan is engaged now in protecting business rights and simplifying the implementation of investment projects, having reviewed more than 90 projects worth more than $45 billion. This is what Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov said at the "Adal Azamat. Adal Enbek. Adal Business" Forum in Astana today, Kazinform News Agency reports.

The Prime Minister hailed the introduction of a 'green corridor' for public services which enables to obtain necessary services for investment projects within a five-day period.

“The entrepreneurs are protected from dubious and unnecessary restrictions from the side of government agencies. The Government sees a serious potential in the development of a belt of small and medium businesses around large business,” the Prime Minister said.

He added that major companies should conclude long-term contracts with the local producers to receive state support. With the introduction of this measure, the cost of contracts with the domestic producers rose by 31% having reached 167 billion tenge.

The list of priority goods has been expanded by more than three times and now includes over 4,500 items. This measure aims to support those producers facing restrictions in public procurement.

The Prime Minister also announced a national project on modernization of the country’s energy and utilities sectors. The project provides for 10 trillion tenge of investments.
