Investment in fixed assets increased by 5.2% - Kazakh Statistics Agency

ASTANA. March 15. KAZINFORM In February 2013, investment in fixed capital of Kazakhstan increased by 5.2% as compared to the same period last year, head of the Statistics Agency Alikhan Smailov stated at a briefing on the results of socio-economic development of the country in January 2013.

"The volume of investment in fixed assets in January - February 2013 amounted to 503.7 billion tenge, which is 5.2% more than during the same period in 2012," A.Smailov said.

According to the Agency, the short-term economic indicator in January-February 2013 as compared to January-February 2012 was 102.9%.

As for other indicators of socio-economic development, in February 2013, the volume of industrial production reached 2950.3 billion tenge, which is higher than at the same period of 2012 by 0.9%.

The volume of agricultural GDP in February 2013 amounted to 127.2 billion tenge, showing a 0.5% decline in comparison with January-February 2012.

The volume of freight traffic in the country dropped by 2.9% to 70.8 billion tenge.
