IOC called ski jumps in Almaty best in world

ALMATY. KAZINFORM - Head of the National Olympic Committee of Russia Alexander Zhukov thinks that the complex of ski jumps in Almaty is one of the best among outdoor sports facilities in the world, he said during the briefing in Almaty.

"We visited many sports facilities, but I was just impressed with "Sunkar" ski jumps complex. This is a very beautiful facility. Besides, it impresses that this complex includes five jumps and some of them can be used by children. I can say that this is one of the best sports facilities in the world," A. Zhukov said.

According to him, the members of the evaluation committee of the International Olympic Committee discussed 15 issues focused on different spheres.

The experts were pleased with the bid of Almaty for holding the Olympic Games in 2022. In late march, they will visit the second city planning to host the Games - Beijing.
