IPA CIS decides work plan for Tajikistan Presidential elections
"Observation of the presidential election in Tajikistan is an important and responsible task", noted Kairat Ischanov, the coordinator of the observers' group, Deputy Head of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan.
He also said that the team of international observers from the IPA CIS for long-term and short-term monitoring of preparation and conduct of presidential elections in the Republic of Tajikistan was established in accordance with the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan.
The group consists of 35 people: MPs and representatives of the highest legislative bodies of eight countries - participants of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Moldova, the Russian Federation and the Ukraine) as well as the staff of the IPA CIS Council Secretariat and the experts of the International Institute for Democracy, Parliamentarism and Electoral Assistance of the IPA CIS member-states.
Secretary General of the IPA CIS Council Aleksey Sergeyev told his colleagues that on the day of elections the international observers from the IPA CIS will work according to individual routes.
