Iran agrees to resume nuclear talks
Iran's chief nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili said in a letter to the European Union's Foreign Affairs Chief Catherine Ashton that Iran welcomes "the willingness of G5+1 to return to the talks with Iran," a note said, a copy of which was made available to IRNA on Friday.
The note added that the resumption of talks has been proposed to be after the "10th of November 2010, in a place and on a date convenient to both sides," the report said.
Meanwhile, Ashton said in Brussels on Friday morning that Iran is ready to resume talks over nuclear program.
Ashton, EU high representative for foreign affairs and security policy, said that she had received a letter from Iran's chief nuclear negotiator in which he agreed to resume talks after November 10.
"I think this is a very significant move," Ashton told press when attending European Council summit held in Brussels from Thursday to Friday. Kazinform cites China Daily. See www.chinadaily.com.cn for full version
