Iran plans to sign agreement with EEU in 2015
"I think we have to work in the direction of establishment of certain economic contacts with the EEU in 2015. Iran plans to use this opportunity for increasing export to the EEU. Probably, we will sign a contract or a memorandum on mutual understanind," Sanaei said. According to him, an obstacle in cooperation between Iran and Russia is a problem of high custom duties for Iran's goods. "The custom duties for Iran's goods exported to Russia are really high. Iran sends its goods directly to Russia, not through any other countries with more preferential custom duties. Those custom taxes are really high for Iran. Businessmen of Iran often ask the government to reduce the tariffs and bring examples of the relations between Russian and Armenia, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan," the Ambassador added.
