Iran ready for new regional currency

ASTANA. April 6. KAZINFORM. /Muratbek Makulbekov/ ?We are ready to create new regional currency?, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad announced today at the press conference in the Rixos Hotel in Astana.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad reminded that Iran had suggested the countries of the region not to use dollars in the mutual trade but use their currencies. ?I believe you know that long ago Iran had changed its currency reserves from dollar to other currencies. Today we use other currencies in our trade. Several years ago Russia did likewise and now their situation has improved. However it is never late?, said Iranian President while commenting on Russia?s proposal to sell Iranian oil for rubles.
