Iran says military intervention in Bahrain threat to regional, global security

TEHRAN. March 19. KAZINFORM Iranian Parliament (Majlis) Speaker Ali Larijani said military intervention in Bahrain was a serious threat to regional and global security, the English language satellite Press TV reported on Saturday; Kazinform refers to Xinhua.

"We regard the military invasion on Bahrain which occurred after the visit of the U.S. defense secretary and this country's ( U.S.) green light as a serious threat to regional and global peace and security. We warn invaders to learn a lesson from the U.S. invasions on Afghanistan and Iraq and stop this bloody adventurism immediately," Larijani said in a letter to Edward Ssekandi, chairman of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of the Islamic Conference Member States.

Larijani urged international organizations, in particular the UN Security Council, to take action to put an immediate end to foreign military intervention in Bahrain, said the report.

In another letter to Mahmoud al-Abrash, chairman of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA), Larijani also condemned "inhumane crimes" in Libya, Bahrain and Yemen and called for an emergency meeting of the APA or the troika of the APA on the situation in those countries; Kazinform cites Xinhua.
