Iran to increase energy prices
The Iranian government will announce an increase in electricity prices in the near future.
The cost of delivered gas and electricity used in the agricultural sector will increase several times, Deputy Agriculture Planning and Economics Minister Mohammad Ali Nikbakht said.
The current price for electric power for the population is $0.0158 per kilowatt/hour, for the industrial sphere - $0.0197, and for the agricultural sphere - $0.002. The average price worldwide for electric power per kilowatt/hour is $0.12.
The price for electric power (kilowatt/hour) using subsidized fuel prices is $0.0794 in Iran.
Today, the capacity of electric power generated by Iran is 41,000 megawatts, while the country consumes 41,600 megawatts.
At present, the volume of natural gas produced in Iran is 600 million cubic meters per day. The price per cubic meter of gas for the population is $0.0095, for the agricultural sphere - $0.0151, for education facilities - $0.0086, for bakery product manufacturers - $0.046, for oil refineries and petrochemical plants - $0.0151, and for power plants - $0,0047, Kazinform cites Trend News.
