Iran would welcome Kazakhstan?s membership in OPEC

ASTANA. April 6. KAZINFORM /Aigul Tulekbayeva/ ?We welcome Kazakhstan?s membership in all international organizations, including the OPEC?, President of Iran Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has said at the press conference in the Rixos Hotel.

OPEC is an international intergovernmental organization founded by oil-producing countries for oil prices stabilization. The organization unites such countries as Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, Qatar, Indonesia and others. The purpose of the OPEC is coordination of the activity and elaboration of a common policy regarding oil production among the member countries, support of stable oil prices, provision of its stable supply to the consumers and fair return on capital to those investing in the petroleum industry.
