Islamic Development Bank ready to continue supporting Kazakhstan’s efforts to diversify economy

Madiyar Menilbekov, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Permanent Representative of Kazakhstan to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, met with Anasse Aissami, Acting Vice President for Operations and Director General of Country Programs at the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), Kazinform News Agency has learnt from the press service of the Kazakh Foreign Affairs Ministry.

The sides discussed the outcomes of the recent visit of Muhammad Al-Jasser, IsDB President to Kazakhstan and his participation in the Arab Coordination Group meeting.

The IsDB Vice President highly appreciated the results of the meeting and expressed gratitude for organizing the meeting between Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kazakhstan and the President of IsDB.

Aissami emphasized that the IsDB Group, together with members of the Arab Coordination Group, is committed to fruitful cooperation with Kazakhstan in implementing key infrastructure projects in the country. These projects, with a total value of 7 billion US dollars, aim to develop crucial sectors of the Kazakh economy, including energy and water resources.

Kazakh diplomat expressed gratitude to the IsDB for its active role in the development of projects in Kazakhstan and stressed the importance of continued collaboration. He particularly noted the implementation of the Strategic Framework Agreement with the bank, which provides additional financial support for significant infrastructure and social projects.

In response, Aissami praised Kazakhstan’s contribution to regional development and reaffirmed the Islamic Development Bank’s readiness to continue supporting Kazakhstan’s efforts to diversify its economy and implement strategically important projects aimed at the country’s long-term socio-economic development.
