Issues of support of local manufacturers discussed at Government sitting

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - A sitting of the Government of Kazakhstan was held by Prime Minister of the country Karim Massimov today. The issues of support of Kazakhstani manufacturers were considered at the sitting.

Minister of Investment and Development of Kazakhstan Asset Issekeshev informed that the board of directors of "Samruk-Kazyna" approved the amendments of the rules of procurement of the fund in terms of support for Kazakhstani manufacturers.

"Previously, in case there was the only local manufacturer the company had the right to purchase the products or hold a tender process. Now, the company has to buy products from the local producers," he told.

The proposals on organization of a monitoring process over use of the locally produced construction materials when building facilities at the expenses of the national and local budget were submitted to regional administrations for consideration.

As A. Issekeshev informed, as of March 16, 2015, the implementation of the memorandums on development of local content made about 54%. More than 3 thousand agreements totaling 750 bln tenge have been signed.

Heads of such strategic companies as 'Samruk-Kazyna" JSC, "Kazakhstan Temir Zhol" JSC, "KazMunaiGaz" JSC, "Kazatomprom" JSC, "KEGOC" JSC and others reported on the work done in this direction.

Besides, Chairman of the Board of "EXPO-2017" JSC Talgat Yermegiyayev reported on the procurement within the construction of the EXPO-2017 facilities. According to him, presently, 4 memorandums totaling 67 bln tenge are signed with local manufacturers. This issue is being monitored by the company and by the Government.
