Istanbul honors 200th anniversary of Karakalpak poet Ajiniyaz Qosibay
The 200th anniversary of the great poet of the Karakalpak people Ajiniyaz Qosibay uli’s birth was widely celebrated in Istanbul with the assistance of TURKSOY, UzA reported.
A concert program “Say with the songs of Ajiniyaz” dedicated to the poet’s work was held in Istanbul, with the participation of masters of Uzbek and Karakalpak art.
The event held December 2-5, was attended by TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev and Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan Rasul Zarikeyev.
It was emphasized that the outstanding Karakalpak poet and thinker Ajiniyaz Qosibay uli, with his unique and significant work, made a worthy contribution to the development of culture and literature, the education of youth in the spirit of patriotism and noble ideals, the strengthening of historical friendship and unity of the Uzbek and Karakalpak peoples.
His works are translated into various languages around the world. In Istanbul, the works of the poet Ajiniyaz were translated into Turkish and published.
The concert program included melodies and songs from the poet’s work. They made a great impression on the participants of the event.
Earlier, Kazinform reported that a 15th-century manuscript about Kazakh Sultan Zhanibek had been discovered in Istanbul.
