Turkic News Agencies Media Summit was held in Istanbul on Monday, KABAR reported.

During the forum “Alliance in Media and Vision for the Future,” issues of interaction and development of cooperation are discussed in order to comprehensively strengthen friendship and trust between fraternal peoples.

Kyrgyzstan, at this international platform, is represented by Director of Kabar News Agency Mederbek Shermetaliev. The summit is also attended by: Anadolu President & CEO Serdar Karagoz, Director of Public Relations of the President of Turkiye Fahrettin Altun, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Chairman of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States Binali Yildirim, Azerbaijan State News Agency (AZERTAC) Board Chairman Vugar Aliyev, Kazakh news agency Qazcontent's Board Chairman Bekzat Zhussupov, Uzbekistan National News Agency (UZA) Director-General Abdisait Kuchimov.

The opening ceremony highlighted the importance of unity and the development of closer contacts in the information space for wider dissemination of current news and materials about Turkic-speaking countries was emphasized.

The participants of the meeting noted the importance of the Alliance of Turkic-Speaking Countries, which will change the international community’s view of the Turkic world and play a key role in the formation and promotion of common ideas based on the proximity of cultural and spiritual values.

The forum participants unanimously supported the creation of the Media Alliance, calling this moment historical and of particular importance for strengthening fraternal ties between Turkic-speaking countries.

The participants noted that the Istanbul Summit of the heads of state of the OTS in 2021 was a major turning point for the formation of a union of Turkic-speaking countries and expanding the horizons of cooperation.

As a result of the forum, a Declaration on the establishment of the Alliance of Turkic News Agencies (ATNA) was signed.
