It’s a huge honor to represent Kazakhstan in new capacity – Golovkin on his appointment

World acclaimed Kazakhstani boxer Gennady Golovkin who had just been appointed as the new President of the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan revealed his lifelong dream, Kazinform News Agency reports.

Gennady Golovkin said it is his ultimate dream to contribute to the development of sport in Kazakhstan.

“It would be a huge honor to represent our country in a new capacity,” he said of his appointment as the NOC President.

“When I was asked to helm the Kazakh NOC, I said yes on condition I would be given a chance to make my contribution to the development of sport in Kazakhstan. As you know I’m neither politician, nor government official,” Golovkin said, adding he has his own vision, many years of international experience, his team and, most importantly, a genuine aspiration to turn his vision into reality in his country.
