IV Asian Para Games opening ceremony held in China's Hangzhou

The opening ceremony of the IV Asian Para Games themed as “Hearts Meet, Dreams Shine” took place at the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center Stadium, also known as the Big Lotus, Kazinform reports citing the press service of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports.

Zhangali Suyeuov, silver medalist of the Asian Volleyball Championships, and Altynay Yerzhankyzy, international para table tennis champion, were honored to carry the Flag of Kazakhstan.

According to Minister Yermek Marzhikpayev, the participation of Kazakstan’s para athletes in the Asian Games is a big victory. “Their outstanding results became possible thanks to unrelenting diligence and passion for sports,” he says.

About 4,000 athletes from 43 Asian countries will take part in the competitions, to be held from October 22 to 28.
