James Appathurai appointed NATO Special Representative for Southern Caucasus and Central Asia

LISBON. November 19. KAZINFORM /Dimash Syzdykov/ NATO Spokesman James Appathurai has been appointed Special Representative of the North Atlantic Alliance for the Southern Caucasus and Central Asia. It was announced today at the press conference held within the NATO Summit in Lisbon, Portugal.

As the press service of the NATO informs, James Appathurai will begin his duties on December 1, 2010.

It should be noted that the position of the NATO Special Representative for the Southern Caucasus and Central Asia is important for our country in development of cooperation with the Alliance. Earlier this post was held by Robert Simmons.
