Japan's technology giants ready to participate in EXPO-2017 in Astana

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Kazakhstan's delegation headed by Commissioner of the International specialized exhibition EXPO-2017 and First Deputy Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Rapid Zhoshybayev paid a visit to Japan, Kazinform refers to the Kazakh MFA's press service.

While in Tokyo, Rapil Zhoshybayev had meetings with Parliamentary Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan Takashi Uto, Vice Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan Norihiko Ishiguro and other officials. During the bilateral negotiations at the Japanese foreign ministry, the sides praised high level of political, economic and investment cooperation between Japan and Kazakhstan. Takashi Uto and Rapil Zhoshybayev also touched upon the organization of Shinzo Abe's official visit to Kazakhstan. The Japanese Prime Minister is believed to visit Astana in 2015 in order to deepen bilateral strategic partnership between the two nations. Besides, on behalf of the President of Kazakhstan Mr. Zhoshybayev handed his Japanese colleague the letter addressed to Prime Minister Abe regarding Kazakhstan's bid to become a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council in 2017-2018. Utmost attention was paid the development of commercial and economic cooperation between Japan and Kazakhstan during the meeting with Norihiko Ishiguro. Moreover, the sides discussed the preparations for the upcoming 6th session of the Kazakh-Japanese Joint Commission of public and private sectors in Tokyo in 2015 and attraction of corporate participants to EXPO-2017 event in Astana. Norihiko Ishiguro confirmed that Japan will officially participate in EXPO-2017. In his words, such Japanese corporations as Toyota, Mitsubishi and many more are ready to take part in the preparation process and holding of the EXPO event in the Kazakh capital.
