JCC, FGCCC agree to enhance economic cooperation

Jordan Chamber of Commerce (JCC) and Federation of Gulf Cooperation Council Chambers (FGCCC) agreed to form a joint committee to organize specialized sectoral meetings, aimed to enhance economic cooperation and focus on the two sides' "promising" investment opportunities, Petra reports.

During a meeting held on the sidelines of the first Jordan-Gulf Investment Conference, which was chaired by JCC Head, Khalil Haj Tawfiq, and FGCCC Chairman, Sheikh Faisal bin Abdullah Al-Rawas, the two sides stressed the necessity of exchanging expertise, building trade partnerships, and promoting exports and services on a a rotation-based sectoral ground between countries.

According to a JCC statement on Saturday, both sides stressed the importance of holding specialized exhibitions that coincide with visits by trade delegations, which provide direct opportunities to establish mutual business partnerships.

Furthermore, they stressed the importance of networking Arab Gulf tourism companies and agents with their Jordanian counterparts to enhance tourist cooperation and attract investments in this vital sector.

Stressing the importance of twinning JCC and FGCCC, the statement said this move would orchestrate efforts and enhance cooperation in various economic fields.

The two bodies noted the importance of reactivating joint business councils for members of FGCCC and the Jordanian private sector to boost communication and overcome challenges facing the two sides' private sector and seek to establish partnerships that achieve common interests.

The two sides also agreed to hold the next second edition of the conference in the city of Aqaba and organize an exhibition to display Jordanian and Gulf products, goods and services, to highlight available investment opportunities and push economic relations.

The statement added that JCC and FGCCC agreed to study feasibility of establishing a company, allowing the chambers of commerce in Jordan and the Arab Gulf countries to contribute to establish and own projects.
