Jibek Joly tourist train arrives in Turkistan

During his working visit to the Turkistan region, Chairman of the Kazakh Tourism Industry Committee Nurtas Karipbaev met with tourists embarking on the first trip on the Jibek Joly tourist train. A new route, designed to foster tourism and cultural exchange, welcomed its inaugural group of 115 travelers, Kazinform News Agency cites the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The passengers will spend one day in the historical city of Turkistan and two days in Tashkent. To facilitate tourist movement, city tours will be provided with comfortable air-conditioned buses accompanied by professional guides.

Additionally, the tourist will have the opportunity to visit Otrar, one of the most ancient cities in Central Asia, which served as a pivotal trade hub, the Arystan Bab Mausoleum, state historical-cultural reserve-museum Azret Sultan, and Karavan Saray, the largest tourist complex of its kind in Central Asia.

The Jibek Joly tourist train was initiated by order of the Head of State, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, as part of the implementation of the tourism development strategy. This project aims to facilitate the creation of new travel opportunities, strengthen cultural ties between countries, and enhance the accessibility of travel for citizens.
