Joint celebration of Nowruz spring holiday held in Brussels
The celebration was attended by representatives of the European political institutions, NATO, Belgium, the diplomatic corps accredited to the country, international non-governmental organizations as well as the experts and journalists.
Representatives of countries celebrating Nowruz were able to demonstrate their national costumes, traditions and customs, to talk about the specifics of their celebrations in their own countries, and to share the secrets of cooking popular national dishes. Guests and participants of the event have been appreciated by skillfully prepared food.
During the event the guests were also provided with materials on the International specialized exhibition EXPO-2017 in Astana, as well as on the achievements of Kazakhstan's independence.
Nowruz is celebrated by all Turkish, Asian and some Caucasian peoples. It is loved and respected in Tatarstan, Bashkortostan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and even in India and China. Symbolizing the warmth and beauty it brings together not only the Turkic-speaking ethnic groups, the peoples of Central Asia and Asia Minor, but also anyone interested in the culture and traditions, and the people who know how to appreciate the good relationship.
Since 2009 Nowruz has acquired the status of international has been recognized as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity, and enters the UNESCO Representative List along with other 76 elements of the world.
