During a meeting on Wednesday, Chairperson of the JBA Hamdi Tabbaa highlighted the need to enhance trade and investment ties, noting the current modest volume of trade exchanges.

He emphasized the importance of building economic partnerships in key sectors such as tourism, agriculture, health, energy, and shipping. Tabbaa also underscored the role of the private sector in leveraging economic opportunities.

Georgian Ambassador Archil Dzuliashvili affirmed his country’s commitment to expanding investments, particularly in pharmaceutical, agricultural, education, shipping, and tourism sectors.

He noted that the establishment of a business council would strengthen economic relations and foster collaboration between private sector institutions in both countries.

Trade exchange between Jordan and Georgia totaled approximately $3 million in 2023, down from $8 million in 2022.

Earlier it was reported that Jordan's Social Security Investment Fund had reported a 9.1% growth in its assets in 2024, amounting to JOD 1.3 billion. The fund’s total assets reached JOD 16.1 billion by the end of 2024, compared to JOD 14.8 billion in 2023.
