Jubilee NATO summit to take place in France and Germany
BRUSSELS. January, 20. KAZINFORM /Yerzhan Ospanov/ Jubilee summit dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) will take place in Strasburg (France) and Kele (Germany). NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer informed of it at the meeting with journalists, Kazinform correspondent reports.
The Head of the Organization noted that information concerning complete status of France in the Alliance will be possibly announced at the anniversary forum. On the initiative of President Charles de Gaulle France withdrew from the military organization of NATO in 1966 while remaining a participant of the North Atlantic Treaty.
Secretary General also expressed hope to welcome the entry of two new members - Croatia and Albania into the Organization at the summit.
