Judges? salaries increased to 60%: K.Mami
ALMATY. January 9. KAZINFORM /Dauren Zhailin/ ?Our main task is formation of judiciary of a new format with high moral qualities and professionalism?, Chairman of the Supreme Court Kairat Mami has said today at the enlarged session of judges on the results of course of justice for 2008, Kazinform reports.
As R.Mami noted that in this regard amendments aimed at improvement of social and material conditions of judges were introduced to the Constitutional Law of the country. Mandatory retirement age of judges was increased to 65. Beginning from January 1, 2009 salaries of judges are increased to 60%.
It was also noted that special demands are made on the order of probation of candidates to judges, the process of judicial personnel selection was raised on a new qualitative level. The main body of personnel formation will be the Supreme Judicial Council, closely cooperating with the Supreme Court and departments of judicial community of the country.
?Today coordinate and consistently acting system on provision of judicial personnel selection is formed?, K.Mami said.
