"I think Golovkin can go up to 175 or 168 and fight better opposition like Froch, Abraham... or Peter Quillin or Andy Lee. I don't know why he takes this guy [Monroe]. I don't know why Golovkin doesn't take these risks, because these fights [like Monroe] don't have too much risk. Like me, I have one year off and take Fonfara who knocked down Adonis Stevenson," said Chavez Jr at a press conference. Last year, Chavez was close to signing a deal to fight Golovkin at 168, but it didn't happen because of the contractual problems with his promoters, Top Rank. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr is to face Polish light heavyweight Andrzej Fonfara (26-3, 15 KO) this upcoming Saturday (April 18). As for Gennady ‘GGG' Golovkin, his bout vs. Willie Monroe Jr. is scheduled for May 16. Source: Vesti.kz.
