K-Maestro exhibition kicks off in Kazakh capital
K-Maestro project by the cultural center of the South Korean Embassy was inaugurated at the Nur Alem Museum in Astana to feature traditional music, maedeup (the art of Korean knotting), Kazinform Agency reports.
The project initiated by the National Gugak Center of South Korea is developed by the cultural center of the South Korean Embassy in cooperation with QazExpoCongress National Company JSC.
The exhibition is part of the festive events dated to the 2022-2023 Year of cultural exchange between Kazakhstan and South Korea.
South Korean traditional culture differs from the widely-known vibrant cultural legacy.
The exhibition consists of two parts. An exposition dedicated to Pansori, the Korean music genre, reflects the life of the common people through humor and satire. Another exposition features Sanjo, a style of traditional Korean music that means scattered melodies.
The exhibition is open to the public until December 3.
