K. Massimov attended funeral service for Lee Kuan Yew
On behalf of President of Kazakhstan N. Nazarbayev and the people of Kazakhstan K. Massimov expressed condolences to Prime Minister of Singapore Lee Hsien Loong - the son of Lee Kuan Yew, the press service of the Government of Kazakhstan informs.
As earlier reported, the President of Kazakhstan sent a telegram of condolences to the Prime Minister of Singapore where he noted the great efforts of Lee Kuan Yew aimed at strengthening of the image of Singapore in the world and its establishment of the leading Asian country.
Lee Kuan Yew is considered to be the founding father of Singapore. He was heading the Government of the country from 1959 through 1990.
N. Nazarbayev awarded Lee Kuan Yew with "Dostyk" order and "20 years of Independence of Kazakhstan" medal for his personal contribution to strengthening of the friendship between the peoples of the two countries.
