K.Vollebaek highly appraises that Kazakhstan preaches ideas of interethnic, interreligious tolerance
ASTANA. November 30. KAZINFORM /Daniyar Sikhimbayev/ It is important that the OSCE Summit is being held in Astana - the capital of the post-Soviet republic. It is symbolic for our epoch. We have opportunity to consider the situation in central Asia - the region which is very important for ensuring the global security. OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities Knut Vollebaek has announced it at a briefing in Astana.
The OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities congratulated Kazakhstan on its chairmanship in the Organization and thanked President Nursultan Nazarbayev for the reception. "I highly appraise that Kazakhstan preaches the ideas of interethnic, interreligious tolerance. I would like to thank Kazakhstan's leadership for the work which is conducted here on strengthening rights and interests' protection of national minorities. I welcome cooperation between Kazakhstan and our Bureau in the field of interests' protection of national minorities", the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities noted.
