KAIYP KHAN
KAIYP (GAIYP MUKAMBET) (middle of the XVII century - 1719) – the Kazakh Khan. He ruled the Kazakh Khanate after Tauke Khan.
During his ruling external position of the Kazakh Khanate was tense and difficult. Kaiyp Khan had great expectations of Kazakhstan's accession to Russia. In 1716 Kazakh ambassadors B.Yekeshev and B.Boriyev arrived in Tobolsk and expressed readiness of Kaiyp Khan to establish close ties with the Russian government and create the Kazakh-Russian military union against the Dzungar Khanate. Strengthening of the Kazakh-Russian ties during Kaiyp Khan's ruling was connected with a growing threat from the Dzungars.
