Karaganda declares state of emergency

Monster wind battered Karaganda region last weekend, Kazinform Agency quotes the governor’s press service.

Rescuers continue to eliminate the consequences of the storm wind that ripped through the region on November 18-19. No casualties were reported.

Head of the regional emergency situations department Murat Katpanov reported on the situation to the governor of Karaganda region, Yermaganbet Bulekpayev.

Roofs were ripped off from more than 110 buildings up to 18,947 square meters at large. Power outages were recorded locally in the city of Karaganda and neighboring districts.

The governor instructed to promptly restore wind-battered facilities and declare a state of emergency.
