Karakalpakstan and China implement promising joint projects

The delegation, led by the Chairman of the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan A. Orinbayev, is visiting China to hold partnership meetings, UzA reports.

Members of the delegation took part in the forum on the development of investment and tourism as part of the Karakalpakstan – China Business Forum, organized at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Beijing. Meetings were held with representatives of several large Chinese companies.

Preliminary agreements have been reached on organizing the processing of marble and gold using the flotation method together with Ji An Tai Technologies, on the delivery of passenger transport together with Norinco International, and on the production of equipment for the use of renewable energy together with Liaoning Lide Investment Holdings Group, developing a program to ensure food security in Karakalpakstan together with Guangdong Urban & Rural Planning and Design Institute. Also, an agreement for $1.4 million was signed to enhance trade and economic cooperation.

As part of the visit program, Chairman of the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan A. Orinbayev and members of the delegation met with the Secretary of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee Xin Changxing to strengthen and develop cooperation, raise the partnership to a new level.

During the visit, meetings of various formats were held with several prominent Chinese business people, and cooperation agreements were signed. In particular, the Karakalpak Cement and Shah Polan of Karauzak district concluded four investment agreements worth $135.3 million.
