Our plans are impressive – Ilham Aliyev on talks with Tokayev
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan called Azerbaijan as a strategic partner and pointed out the importance of his visit to the country during a press conference, Kazinform News Agency cites Akorda.
The current state visit is of paramount importance in further promotion of cooperation between our countries. I’ve led a broad delegation, which shows our thorough preparation for all aspects of this visit to brotherly Azerbaijan. The visit, indeed, ended up to be a success. Today, we attended the signature of certain documents and agreements. The key, as we agreed, is the work of our governments and other relevant agencies will focus on full realization of all agreements reached at the highest meeting, said the Kazakh leader.
The Kazakh Head of State stressed that the interaction between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan serves as an example of interstate relations based on ties of friendship, trust, respect and interests of one another. According to him, all the contacts at the highest level can make use in strengthening strategic partnership and alliance between the countries. He pointed to the importance of the issues discussed during the first meeting of the Kazakhstani-Azerbaijan Supreme Interstate Council.
It was said today that the struggle for access to transport and logistics capabilities is growing around the world as the struggle for resources. It’s a strategic area. It’s encouraging that Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan are closely cooperating in this area as natural partners. Today’s ceremony of inaugurating the railway route from the Xi’an port across Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan speaks a lot. It’s an important event, indeed. We said that joint efforts would be made in the fields of digitalization, AI creation, construction of an optic-fiber communication under the Caspian Sea. They are unique projects, said the Kazakh leader.
Tokayev spoke in detail about the cultural and humanitarian cooperation. He expressed gratitude to the Azerbaijani side to holding the Days of culture of Kazakhstan at the high level.
I’d like to note our interaction in important international organizations such as the UN, OTS, OSCE, ASEAN, SPECA, CIS. I believe that this is a huge range of integration and such international cooperation will be continued, said Tokayev.
For his part, Azeri President Ilham Aliyev thanked the Kazakh leader for the visit and expressed satisfaction with the results of the talks.
The Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor is now a reality, which will itself largely define the level of regional cooperation as it’s impossible to be a transit country without good relations with neighbors. In this case, both Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan demonstrate commitment to regional cooperation, strengthening of their relations with neighbors. Only the Caspian Sea divides us. However, today it is not a barrier. Instead, the Caspian Sea is a bridge not only between our countries but also many countries, with the Trans-Caspian Transport Route fully reveals its potential. Detailed reports from the government members on many areas were heard. And the results of interaction and joint work, and most importantly, the future plans are impressive, indeed, said Aliyev.
