Tokayev extends condolences to family of scholar Mekemtas Myrzakhmetuly

Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev sent a letter of condolences to relatives and friends of Mekemtas Myrzakhmetuly, an outstanding scholar, and doctor of philological sciences, who was awarded with the first degree "Barys" order, Kazinform News Agency reports citing the Akorda press service.

“Mekemtas Myrzakhmetuly was a prominent representative of Kazakh intelligence, who devoted his life to the study of Abai Kunanbayev’s heritage and the development of national literary studies. He made a significant contribution to the strengthening of national spirituality and left behind a large number of students. His works, which were the result of many years of painstaking research work, are deservedly recognized. The bright name of Mekemtas Myrzakhmetuly, who lived a worthy life and left an indelible trace in history, will remain in the memory of our people,” reads the telegram.

As reported earlier, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev extended condolences to the family of writer Mukhtar Magauin.
