Kassym-Jomart Tokayev hosts Vladimir Putin in the Akorda presidential residence
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan hosted his Russian counterpart President Vladimir Putin in the Akorda presidential residence, Kazinform News Agency correspondent reports.
As per tradition, an honor guard was arranged in the ceremonial hall in honor of the high guest’s visit.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Vladimir Putin walked along the red carpet to the State Flag of the Republic of Kazakhstan and then the heads of the two states proceeded to hold a narrow-format meeting.
Earlier, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev greeted the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, at the Astana airport, the later arrived in Kazakhstan on a state visit.
On November 27-28, the Russian President will be in Kazakhstan on a state visit and is expected to participate in the next session of the Collective Security Council (CSC) of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in the Kazakh capital.
During the state visit, Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev is set to hold top-level talks with Vladimir Putin. It is planned to discuss issues of further development of Russian-Kazakh relations of strategic partnership and alliance in various fields, including taking into account Kazakhstan’s chairmanship in the CSTO this year, and Russia’s in the Commonwealth of Independent States and BRICS.
Following the talks, a Joint Statement of the Heads of State as well as a number of intergovernmental, interdepartmental, and commercial documents will be signed.
