Kassym-Jomart Tokayev meets with Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov
Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev had a meeting with Chairman of the People’s Council of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in the Akorda presidential palace. President Tokayev expressed gratitude to Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov who personally had arrived in Astana to participate in the 10th Anniversary Summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), Kazinform News Agency cites the Akorda press service.
The Kazakh President emphasized the meeting with the Chairman of the People’s Council of Turkmenistan will further facilitate strengthening of mutually profitable partnership between the fraternal countries. According to him, the Kazakh-Turkmen relations develop successfully and fully conform to the level of strategic partnership.
During the meeting, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev praised the Turkmen leader’s huge contribution to the development of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan. That is why the meeting in Astana is of paramount practical and political importance, he said.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, in turn, thanked Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for the invitation to take part in the work of the 10th Anniversary OTS Summit and commended the level of interaction between the two nations.
The sides went on to hail positive dynamics in mutual trade and touched upon the implementation of projects in energy, industry, transport, logistics and other sectors. They also reiterated the readiness to further deepen cultural and humanitarian ties between Astana and Ashgabat.
