Kassym-Jomart Tokayev visits Khromtau Mining and Technical College
Established in 1979, the institution has been the only source of manpower for mining industry in the country’s west, Kazinform News Agency learned from the Akorda press service.
1,157 future mining professionals (miners, shaft men, ore dressing specialists, mining electricians, wiremen, etc.) are pursuing their studies here.
College Director Bagdasgzhan Muldasheva told the President about the advanced technologies applied in the educational process.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met the students and graduates of the college. He noted the importance of the dual learning system applied in the educational institution. He emphasized that mining industry plays a key role in the country’s economic development. According to him, year 2025 declared as the year of working professions will let contribute to the development of domestic mining sector.
Earlier, Kazinform reported that President Tokayev arrived in Aktobe region. The Head of State visited the Bolashak mine with a capacity of 7.5 million tons of chromitite per year.
