Kazakh 10th grader develops smart bus stop project
The first smart bus stop developed by a 10th grader from the local school lyceum, Sulukhan Amangeldy, may be pilotly built in Shchuchinsk, Akmola region, Kazinform News Agency cites the Akmola region akimat.
It took her a year and a half to develop the project called to create favorable conditions for passengers, provide them with more accurate bus information, and help predict bus waiting times, as well as improve the public transport services at large.
At first, Sulukhan studied smart bus stop prototypes around the world and worked to adapt such a construction to the region’s weather conditions. The bus stop will be fitted with a digital map, a bus tracking smart system, e-books, a coffee machine, video surveillance, and air conditioning. All this will also support small businesses.
Sulukhan met with the district akim (head) to present her project. The development of the project may begin this year to provide convenient travel for people.
