Kazakh Ambassador, Czech Prime Minister met
ASTANA. February 11. KAZINFORM On the eve of his visit to our country,Czech Prime Minister MirekTopolanek held a meeting with Kazakh Ambassador Anarbek Karashev, Kazinform refers to the press service of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry.
The sides discussed the issues of bilateral cooperation between Kazakhstan and Czechia and between Kazakhstan and the European Union, chaired by Czechia since the beginning of this year, topical issues of coming negotiations with the leadership of our country.
The Prime Minister noted the leading role of Kazakhstan in Central Asia and the importance of cooperation between the countries and between Kazakhstan and the European Union.
The Kazakh Ambassador stressed the priority of development of relations with Czechia as one of strategic partners of Kazakhstan in Central and Eastern Europe. He also noted that deepening of cooperation with the EU meets the interests of Kazakhstan within the framework of ?The Road to Europe? state program.
The sides agreed that the countries have great potential in the field of economic cooperation, despite the fact that trade turnover between the countries amounted to USD 4 bln last year. in particular, there are such perspective directions for cooperation as engineering, electricity and oil-and-gas industries.
M.Topolanek expressed hope that his first visit to Kazakhstan will promote further development of bilateral cooperation and further development of relations between Kazakhstan and the European Union.
