Kazakh Ambassador, Lithuanian Foreign Minister met
ASTANA. February 16. KAZINFORM A meeting of Kazakh Ambassador Galymzhan Koishybayev with Foreign Minister of the Lithuanian Republic Vigaudas Ushatskas was held on February 13 in Vilnius. Dynamic development of bilateral cooperation and interaction within international organizations were discussed at the meeting, Kazinform refers to the press service of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry.
The Ambassador informed of economic and political situation in Kazakhstan, topical foreign initiatives and explained main provisions of ?Road to Europe? State Program. Special emphasis was laid on Kazakhstan?s initiative on the development of new Agreement on partnership and cooperation with the European Union and interest in simplification of visa relations with the EU member states.
The sides complimented beneficial contacts and consultations between the foreign ministries of our countries, including those within the OSCE that will be activated in the process of joint work in the OSCE Troika.
The Foreign Minister expressed readiness to support Kazakh initiatives, especially aimed at the development of cooperation with the EU, noting friendly character of relations between both countries. V. Ushatskas complimented essential growth of bilateral trade turnover and necessity to activate usage of trade, energy and transit potential of both countries.
According to the Kazakh Ambassador, ?Road to Europe? Program together with the EU Strategy of New Partnership with Central Asian countries will contribute to further development of cooperation between Kazakhstan and the EU in various spheres.
