Kazakh Ambassador meets with S. Korean National Assembly Speaker

Ambassador of Kazakhstan Nurgali Arystanov held a meeting with the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea Kim Jin Pyo, during which they discussed the current state and prospects of inter-parliamentary cooperation, Kazinform News Agency cites the press service of the Kazakh MFA.

During the conversation, Ambassador Nurgali Arystanov conveyed warm greetings from Chairman of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Erlan Koshanov, who made a successful visit to Korea last September. The importance of conducting parliamentary diplomacy, including within the framework of the Kazakhstan–Korea Friendship Groups in the legislative bodies of the two countries, was especially noted.

In turn, Speaker Kim Jin Pyo asked to convey his best wishes and sincere gratitude to the Chairman of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan for supporting the Korean initiative to launch the Forum of Speakers of Parliaments in the format “Central Asia – Republic of Korea”. The Korean parliamentarian highlighted the progressive development of trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation, pointing out the successful investment experience of Korean companies such as KIA in Kazakhstan. The energy sector, digital transformation, tourism, cultural exchange, and education were highlighted as promising areas.

Kim Jin Pyo expressed “his intention to visit Kazakhstan and the Central Asian states in order to further strengthen the friendship among our countries.”

While concluding the conversation, the Speaker wished every success to the Ambassador in promoting friendly relations and enhanced strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and Korea.
