Kazakh Ambassador met Chairman of International Affairs Committee of Spanish Parliament

ASTANA. February 18. KAZINFORM Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Spain Yergali Bulegenov has had a meeting with Chairman of the International Affairs Committee of the Congress of Deputies of the Spanish Parliament Josep Antoni Duran i Lleida, Kazinform quotes the press service of the Kazakh MFA.

The Kazakh Diplomat told about the socio-economic situation in Kazakhstan, international initiatives of our country and democratic reforms. In particular, he focused on the latest amendments to the Law ?On elections in the Republic of Kazakhstan?, achievements in inter-ethnic harmony, the initiatives on ensuring regional security and development of inter-faith dialogue. Mr. Bulegenov highlighted importance of Nursultan Nazarbayev?s initiative on nuclear disarmament and closing the nuclear polygon. The Kazakh Ambassador informed also of ? The Road to Europe? State Program adopted last year in Kazakhstan which is connected with preparation of our country for the OSCE chairmanship in 2010. The program aims at achievement of strategic partnership with the leading European countries, including Spain. Josep Antoni Duran i Lleida thanked the Kazakh diplomat for the information about Kazakhstan and expressed his desire to do everything possible to assist in strengthening cooperation and promoting an open dialogue between the parliaments of the two countries.
