Kazakh Ambassador met with Spanish Senate Speaker

The diplomat told about the current status and development of the socio-economic situation in Kazakhstan, the country?s international initiatives, democratic reforms, achievements in the sphere of international consent, initiatives on strengthening of regional security and development of interfaith dialog. He particularly dwelled upon the Kazakh President?s initiative on abandonment of nuclear armory and closure of Semipalatinsk nuclear test site. He informed of ?Path to Europe? government program connected with preparation for Kazakhstan?s OSCE chairmanship in 2010 and aimed at reaching strategic partnership with European countries including Spain. Yergali Bulegenov informed the Speaker of the Kazakh Government?s economic stabilization measures and main provisions of the Kazakh President?s Address to the nation ?Through Crisis to Renovation and Development?. Mr. Rojo Garcia expressed confidence that the economies of Kazakhstan and Spain would soon overcome negative consequences of the crisis and continue their growth. The Speaker appreciated the article ?Keys to Crisis? by the President of Kazakhstan and called it an important contribution in search for ways out of global problems. He thanked the Kazakh diplomat for information and expressed readiness to promote cooperation between the parliaments of the two states.
