Kazakh Ambassador opens Honorable Consulate in Australia

ASTANA. November 2. KAZINFORM. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan Yerlan Baudarbek-Kozhatayev has officially opened an Honorable Consulate of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Australia in Perth, Western Australia, today; Kazinform refers to the Kazakh MFA's press service.

Representatives of the local authorities and business circles of the state of Western Australia took part in the opening ceremony.

Making a speech State Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade Mr. Phillip Allars noted the significant progress and economic growth reached by Kazakhstan during the years of its independence. He paid special attention to Kazakhstan's efforts in the sphere of strengthening security in the region and forthcoming chairmanship in the OSCE. The Australian diplomat told about the similarity of geo-economic conditions of the two states and expressed confidence in further development of mutually beneficial relations in the spheres of industry, infrastructure and agriculture.

Managing Director, Executive Director of "Central Asia Resources" Ltd Jason Stirbinskis was appointed Honorary Consul.

A roundtable on development of Kazakhstan's investment climate and presentation of potential branches for attraction of Australian investments was held within the framework of the consulate opening.
