Kazakh Ambassador presents credentials to Turkey's Abdullah Gul

ASTANA. October 29. KAZINFORM Kazakh Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Turkey Zhansseit Tuimebayev has presented credentials to Turkish President Abdullah Gul in the Cankaya Palace in Ankara on October 28.

As the Kazakh Embassy's press service reports, after presenting credentials the Ambassador and the President held a conversation, in the course of which A.Gul highly appraised the Kazakh-Turkish relations, confirmed striving of the Turkish leadership for further interaction with Kazakhstan on a wide range of bilateral and international issues.

The Turkish President noted that Turkey backs all beginnings and initiatives of fraternal Kazakhstan. In this connection he confirmed his participation in the OSCE Summit which will be held in Astana on December 1-2.

Conveying best wishes of Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev to Abdullah Gul, Ambassador Tuimebayev noted that joint large projects which are on the agenda of the Kazakh-Turkish relations, including those in multilateral political cooperation, trade-economic, transport-communication and investment sectors as well as cultural-humanitarian fields, appeal for ensuring significant progress in strengthening of the interaction.

Mr. Z.Tuimebayev thanked the Turkish side for support of Kazakhstan's initiatives on integration processes in the Turkic world, including creation of the Turkic Council, Council of Elders, Turkic Academy and others.

Touching upon the economic component of bilateral relations, the sides emphasized necessity of the trade turnover increase between the countries which made up USD 1.7 bln over six months of 2010. In this connection the Ambassador emphasized that the Customs Union of Kazakhstan, Russia and Belarus which has been functioning since January 1, 2010 opens new prospects for joint investment projects.
