Kazakh ambassador to Azerbaijan divulges agenda of Caspian littoral states' summit
BAKU. August 28. KAZINFORM. Presidents of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkmenistan will discuss a legal status of the Caspian Sea on Sep.11-13, Kazakh Ambassador to Azerbaijan Serik Primbetov told reporters; Kazinform refers to Today.Az.
The summit is of informal character and presidents will define the agenda. The issues on the energy cooperation are also expected to be discussed, Primbetov said.
Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Russia have no claims to one another with regard to dividing Caspian seabed. There are both bilateral and trilateral agreements between these countries.
The parties have also agreed to determine the coordinates of the median line. The issue is yet to be agreed with two countries - Turkmenistan and Iran - due to which the status of the Caspian Sea has not yet been defined despite many years of discussions; Kazinform cites Today.Az.
